Talebound reads the photos you have already taken, groups them into trips, and gives each one its place and its dates. You start with your travels already in it, instead of a blank page and good intentions.

Backfill

It finds the trips you never got around to writing.

Point Talebound at your photo library and it clusters by time and place: a week in one city becomes one trip, a Tuesday at home becomes nothing at all. Each trip arrives titled — a real place name and its dates — because the gazetteer is bundled in the app rather than looked up.

Everything backfill produces is a draft. Drafts stay on your phone and never sync. You keep the ones that are trips and discard the ones that are a Tuesday, and only then does anything leave the device.

Offline

Written on the plane. Synced when you land.

Talebound's screens read and write a database on your phone — never the network. That is not a graceful-degradation mode that switches on when the signal drops; it is the only mode there is. Airplane mode, a tunnel, a country where your roaming does not work: the app behaves identically.

When a connection comes back, your writing syncs to your other devices. If the same entry changed in two places, Talebound keepsboth versions side by side rather than quietly picking a winner and throwing your words away.

Recall

You were here before.

Arrive somewhere you have been and Talebound offers you what you wrote last time — the entry, its photos, and a way to add today's in one tap.

The matching happens on your phone against your own entries. There is no server watching where you are, and no notification service is involved.

Yours to take

Plain files, not a hostage situation.

Export gives you a zip of Markdown — one file per entry, with your photos at full size. It opens in any text editor on any machine, today and in ten years, with or without Talebound.

The archive carries a manifest that states exactly what is inside, and if a photo could not be included it says which one and why. Coming from Day One? Import its JSON export and your entries, dates, locations and photos come with you.
