Deleting from the app

1. Open Talebound and make sure you're signed in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Read what the screen tells you about your Qavren sign-in — it asks our server which of the two outcomes below applies to this copy of the app, and shows you the real answer rather than a guess.
5. Type DELETE into the confirmation field. The delete button stays disabled until it matches exactly.
6. Tap Delete my account.

Your server-side data is purged and your device is signed out immediately. If the app is closed or loses connection partway through, the next time it opens and reaches our server it finishes the job automatically — retrying is safe and won't do anything twice.

If you can't sign in

If you've lost access to your account and can't use the in-app flow, emailsupport@gettalebound.com and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm the request before deleting anything, and confirm again once it's done.

What gets deleted

Permanently, from our server and from this device:

• Every journal you've created.
• Every entry in every journal — including conflict copies, the second version sync keeps when the same entry was edited on two devices before they could sync.
• Every photo, video, and audio attachment, both the record of it on our server and the actual file in our storage (Cloudflare R2).
• The record of every device you've ever signed in on, and your sync history.
• Everything on the device you're deleting from: the local copy of your journal, your photos, and your sign-in tokens. The one thing that survives on your device is the bundled place-name reference data the app ships with — it contains nothing of yours.

Once deletion finishes, none of the above can be recovered — by you or by us.

What doesn't get deleted

Being straightforward about the limits:

• A bare audit record that your account was deleted. We keep your account's internal identifier and the date it was deleted — an id and a timestamp, and nothing from your journal. This is the minimum required to enforce the deletion, not an exception to it: it's what stops a device that was signed in at the moment of deletion, and still holds a valid session, from syncing your purged data back into existence. The only thing this record is ever used for is answering "has this account been deleted?" It's never used to read, restore, or identify anyone.
• Operational server logs. Our servers keep ordinary logs (request timestamps and similar) for debugging and security, which may include your account id. These aren't part of your journal and aren't used to profile you, but they aren't purged by an account deletion the moment it happens.
• Your Qavren sign-in — sometimes. This is the one genuinely variable outcome, and it depends on how the specific copy of Talebound you're using is deployed:
  • Most deployments (the default): your Qavren sign-in is shared with other apps Qavren Solutions operates, so deleting your Talebound account does not delete that shared credential — deleting it would also lock you out of those other apps, which isn't this app's call to make. What isremoved is that credential's ability to ever use Talebound again — permanently, even if you sign in with it later.
  • A standalone deployment where Talebound is the only app on that sign-in: the server deletes the shared credential itself, along with everything else. In that case there's nothing left to sign back in with at all.
  The app asks our server which of these applies before you confirm, and shows you the real answer — that in-app copy, at the moment you delete, is the accurate one for your account. This page describes both because either can be true depending on deployment.

Afterwards

Deletion is permanent for that identity, on this app, either way.Once you delete your account, that same Qavren sign-in can never be used to create or restore a Talebound account again — not a cooldown, not a grace window, permanently. If your sign-in was left intact (the shared-identity case above), you can still use it to sign in to Qavren Solutions' other apps; you just can't bring it back to Talebound. If you want to use Talebound again in the future, it would have to be with a different sign-in.
